Critical chain project management
Everything has to be done at the same time and deadlines are always short? We work in the automotive industry so naturally time is always short. Those who want to do everything at the same time, though, will not get anything done. We do things differently and organise our project management according to the principle of critical chain project management (CCPM) in addition to our shop floor systems and a bit of what we have learned from Silicon Valley. We avoid annoying multitasking by clearly prioritising things and avoiding bottlenecks. This – in connection with flexible and transparent buffer management and open communication – enables a completely different type of work in the project. Critical chain project management is part of the daily shop floor meetings.
